Yeah, yeah, I’m not posting very often. Too bad. You can just read some other blogs, for a while.

So here we are, over a week since my last post. And nothing much has happened in between. Well, except for my birthday; that happened this week. But that wasn’t really a big deal, either; I didn’t go out or celebrate or anything. (I’m 34 now, and 34 isn’t really a magic number, for me. Maybe when I turn 40 I’ll celebrate more.)

But, in honour of my birthday, I thought I’d look back through my blog, and see what’s happened since my last birthday. Here are some of the highlights, of the last year:

• The fourth edition of my book, Beginning XML, was published. (I will continue to call it “my book”, as a linguistic shortcut, even though I do less and less work on each subsequent edition.)
• Andrea and I took some trips. Specifically, we went to:
  • Prince Edward County
  • Elora/Guelph/St. Jacobs and Elora Gorge
  • Stratford
• I discovered the joys of cleaning with vinegar, instead of chemicals, and using vinegar for fabric softener, instead of “regular” fabric softener.
• We bought a new car—arguably the biggest thing I did this past year
• I created a new blog, where I write about my deployments. (I’m guessing that nobody will ever read this one but me.) I also created a new blog where I write about any books that I’m reading.
• I thought I had a bladder infection, then thought that I had kidney stones, then thought that it wasn’t kidney stones, and eventually found out that I have… Actually, we never did discover what was wrong with me. But I did have the pleasure of getting a cystoscopy done.
• I bought a course to try and learn Spanish. Although, I never did get too far. (Who didn’t see that coming?)

And that’s about it. Other than the new car, nothing too big really happened this past year. We’ll have to see if my 34^th year is more exciting than my 33^rd year was…
